As an Avionics Engineer (Computation), you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and conducting quality checks on software and simulations utilized across a range of projects. You will operate as part of a highly interdisciplinary team of engineers, dedicated to developing control and sensing solutions that facilitate the reliable simultaneous operation of all projects.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Development, testing, integration, and qualification of avionics software and sensors used in various projects
- Coordinate, execute, and document acceptance, qualification, and development testing of avionics software
- Work across teams (systems, integration, dynamics, guidance, etc.) to ensure appropriate hardware/software is developed to meet vehicle requirements
- Participate in and prepare design reviews
- Investigate failures, document findings, and drive corrective actions
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/Computer Science or relevant engineering discipline
- 2+ years of academic or professional experience related to software design, data acquisition systems and embedded systems
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits
- Electrical schematic capture and PCB design (eCAD) software
- Circuit simulation software
- Design for Excellence (DFX), root cause, derating, and related analyses ● Digital communications interfaces including SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and RS422 ● Common circuit blocks including filters, power supplies, and microcontrollers.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere
- Self-motivated with strong multi-tasking, organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Creative problem solver capable of working within a multidisciplinary team
- Great attitude in the face of extreme technical and schedule challenges
- Experience at a nimble engineering organization or in a highly technical position that required a scrappy, entrepreneurial manner to accomplish tasks with tight time or budget constraints
- Project experience or full professional engineering lifecycle experience (design trade, CAD/CAM, prototyping, manufacturing, testing, qualification, production, reuse) is desired
- Ability to deliver against an aggressive schedule, without sacrificing safety or reliability
- Experience making risk evaluations and/or supporting root cause investigations.
Additional Requirements:
- Working Laptop with basic software.
- Must be comfortable stooping, bending, and standing
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed to resolve critical technical issues.
