As an Avionics Engineer (Electronics and Communication), you will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, and testing of all avionics installed in various projects. You will operate as part of a highly interdisciplinary team of engineers, dedicated to developing control and sensing solutions that facilitate the reliable simultaneous operation of all projects.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Development, testing, and qualification of avionics hardware and sensors used in various projects
- Coordinate, execute, and document acceptance, qualification, and development testing of avionics hardware
- Interface with vendors and internal production teams to support new product introduction & sustaining engineering
- Work across teams (systems, integration, dynamics, guidance, etc.) to ensure appropriate hardware/software is developed to meet vehicle requirements
- Participate in and prepare design reviews
- Investigate failures, document findings, and drive corrective actions
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/Communication or relevant engineering discipline
- 2+ years of academic or professional experience related to electronics hardware design, data acquisition systems, and embedded systems
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits
- Electrical schematic capture and PCB design (eCAD) software
- Experience with Mechanical design (mCAD) software
- Experience with Circuit simulation software
- Experience with sensor calibration and/or test rack development
- Experience testing sensors and qualifying them for a given service environment
- Data analysis experience in Python, MATLAB(preferred), or C-based programming languages
- Design for Excellence (DFX), root cause, derating, and related analyses
- Digital communications interfaces including SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and RS422
- Common circuit blocks including filters, power supplies, and microcontrollers
- Advanced knowledge of various physical sensors and how they operate, designed, and manufactured
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere
- Self-motivated with strong multi-tasking, organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Creative problem solver capable of working within a multidisciplinary team
- Great attitude in the face of extremely technical and schedule challenges
- Experience at a nimble engineering organization or in a highly technical position that required a scrappy, entrepreneurial manner to accomplish tasks with tight time or budget constraints
- Ability to deliver against an aggressive schedule, without sacrificing safety or reliability
- Experience making risk evaluations and/or supporting root cause investigations.
Additional Requirements:
- Working Laptop with basic software.
- Must be comfortable stooping, bending, and standing
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed to resolve critical technical issues.
